June 1948, New Ceylon remains occupied under British rule. Due to deteriorating living conditions under a long drought the British high command have fled the island, leaving an army of mechanised proxies in their place. Water supply plants are now the most precious commodities on the island leading to rebel factions rising up in direct response to the government’s direct control over them.

“Step into a reimagined world of Empire, where the lines between history and fiction blur. This immersive experience envelopes you in an intentionally anachronistic world of colonial power, dissent, and persuasion. Through haunting archive voiceovers, propaganda-laden visuals, and a soundscape mixing period music with discordant modern echoes, the installation unravels the machinery of influence.

As the audience, you’ll navigate spaces where facts are weaponised and narratives controlled, inviting reflection on how history is shaped, remembered, and misused.”
